What is the theoretical orientation of the course?
The course focusses on two influential modalities: psychodynamic and person-centred therapies. This training will allow you to develop in-depth knowledge and skills and the ability to appreciate, comprehend, then integrate different modalities in your counselling work. We will work within a coherent integrative framework and the course is 450 guided learning hours.
Please ask us more about our philosophy and framework to make sure we match your training requirements.
Applicants will need have 180 hours of Counselling training at L2/L3 OR equivalent.
We interview every applicant and make a non bias offer even if you have previously trained elsewhere other than the UK. Equal opportunities are central to our philosophy.
We do not recruit students or prioritise giving places to students from any specific existing training groups or centre’s.

I started studying Level 2 Certificate in Counselling in September 2019 at Cambridge Regional College with Amanda.
She is an excellent teacher that I would be very happy to study with again. Amanda ensured the class was well organised and prepared us well at the start of the course, both in terms of course content and the emotional impact we may feel , discussing personal matters. Amanda always had control of the discussions, teaching and skills practice, which meant I felt safe and able to be open, to contribute fully in class.
Amanda is very experienced and professional in her teaching. When the Pandemic began in March 2020 she adapted the class by learning online and was open and honest about any challenges this may present for us . Anyone struggling with coursework was supported fully and we were prepared for journals, assignments and exams. I would highly recommend studying Counselling with Amanda and hope to do so again in the future.

I just wanted to share with you how much I enjoyed doing my Level 3 course with Vanessa, she made me feel comfortable from the beginning, a straight talker but very personable and even when my confidence was low, she encouraged me and hey I passed. Great Tutor.

I studied my L2 with Amanda and she was really supportive and gave me a really good grounding and understanding of counselling. Because of this it made me even more determined to train as a counsellor.
I then continued onto my L3 with Vanessa who was also a great support and teacher. L3 was a step up and a bit of challenge especially through covid but Vanessa was excellent and helped get me through. I would definitely recommend Amanda and Vanessa as being brilliant counselling teachers.

I attended a L4 higher diploma course run by Amanda and Chris, which I believe provided the best grounding possible for preparing to practise as a counsellor. In addition to their in depth knowledge which provided a really solid base of theoretical learning, a strong emphasis on the importance of ethical practise underpinned the whole training. At every stage Amanda and Chris reinforced the values and principles that should inform a counsellor’s work, and skills practise consistently focused on working with integrity and within boundaries. I set up in private practise 2 years after completing the Dip course and have a successful business. I keep in touch with Amanda and would have no hesitation in recommending training with her. She is rigorous, challenging and has very high expectations of her students- which I would most definitely want if I was a client.
